Gratitude

You know, sometimes days suck. Sometimes it's the consolidation of little things that build to a real shit day. Other times it's big things that just ruin every moment. But then there's days like this where we get up and start working at 6 AM, work through a never-ending list of frustrations, and keep going until the jobs are done. By the time we roll around to a lunch we've easily put in seven hours.

Then, I get a few minutes to go through random shots I take when we're working and I find pics like this. I snapped a ton of shots randomly today just hoping for a few decent captures like usual. But on days like this, I don't have time to get focus or make sure the angle is right. I literally pull out my phone, point, click the button a few times and put it away because I have a forever-green horse between my legs and a job to do.

I thought it might be a decent moment to save, but this split second decision captured everything I prayed to return to only a few years ago. It was a quick click that happened to work. It shows a horse I love, a land I love, and a life I fought to come back to once upon a time.

It ain't always easy no matter where you're at, but damn... This moment you see in this split second is what I live for.
